The Ming Chenghua Doucai Chicken Cup is an artifact from the Chenghua period of the Ming Dynasty. Due to the complex processes involved and the high difficulty of production, the yield rate of finished Doucai Chicken Cups was extremely low.

The Chenghua Doucai Chicken Cup is a traditional Han Chinese ceramic art treasure, used as an imperial wine cup by the Chenghua Emperor of the Ming Dynasty. The cup, about eight centimeters in diameter, features a flared mouth and a recessed foot. The decorative process begins by using a fine cobalt blue line to outline the patterns on the exterior wall of the bowl. After glazing, it is fired at a high temperature of around 1300 degrees Celsius to form the body. Subsequently, the reserved blue patterns are filled with colors like red, green, and yellow and then fired again at a lower temperature.

The outer wall is divided into two groups of scenes by peony and orchid rocks. One group depicts a proud rooster raising its head, with a hen and a chick pecking at a centipede, while two other chicks play nearby. The other group shows a rooster crowing with its neck stretched out, a hen, and three chicks pecking at a centipede. The imagery is vivid and lively, filled with charm and often imitated by later generations.
