Bai Guo Purple Clay Teapot

Also known as the "Flower and Fruit Teapot", it is generally believed to have been created in the early Qing Dynasty, attributed to Chen Mingyuan, with its origins possibly tracing back to Chen Zhongmei during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty. The common feature of the Bai Guo teapot is that the teapot body is shaped like an inverted pomegranate, with a lotus root as the spout, a water caltrop as the handle, and a mushroom as the lid. The body is decorated with various fruits. Jiang Rong’s version of the Bai Guo teapot featured the natural colors of the fruits on the teapot, adding a whimsical touch. The design symbolizes fertility and blessings for a large family.
