The "Huangdi Neijing" (Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon) emphasizes that humans are composed of the five elements: Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth. Harmony among the five elements ensures good health and the p prevention of disease.

In the context of wood-fired kiln ceramics, clay (a mixture of earth and water) is the raw material, and the firing process using pine wood incorporates the elements of wood and fire. The ash produced from burning pine wood transforms into various metal elements, enhancing the rustic quality of the wood-fired utensils.

In contrast, ceramics fired in gas, electric, or coal kilns lack these elemental characteristics. Only wood-fired ceramics integrate the five elements—Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth—making them excellent utensils for health-preserving tea drinking.

Unlike most ceramics on the market, which are fired in gas kilns, wood-fired ceramics are gradually heated over 3-5 days to a temperature of 1350°C. Due to the principles of thermal expansion and contraction, the resulting utensils have pores like human skin. The immersion of tea and hot water gradually opens these pores. This process has several benefits:
1. The tea cools quickly.
2. It rapidly enhances the aroma, with a lingering fragrance in the cup.
3. Over time, the utensils are nurtured by the tea, becoming more lustrous and refined.

Additionally, these wood-fired ceramics can be appreciated and collected for their aesthetic and functional qualities.

柴窑器具与养生

《黄帝内经》强调人由五行，即：金、木、水、火、土组成。五行和谐则百病不生。土与水搅拌成瓷器的原材料（泥土），松木烧制具备了木与火的元素，而松木烧成的灰又转化为各类金属元素，丰富了柴窑器具的原始质朴感。而气窑、电窑、煤窑烧制出的陶瓷都不具有以上五行的元素特质。唯独柴窑烧制出的陶瓷具备金、木、水、火、土的五行综合元素，成为养生喝茶的好器具。

与目前市场上多数为气窑烧制的瓷器不同，柴窑通过3-5天逐步加热升温至1350摄氏度，因为热胀冷缩的原理，烧制出的器皿像人的皮肤一样是有气孔的。茶与滚水的浸泡会慢慢将气孔打开。一是茶汤冷却快；二是聚香快，挂杯持久；三是日积月累以茶养具，越养越润。同时还可观赏收藏。
